Sorry for not managing to post this on Christmas Day or even Boxing Day, everything got away from me somewhat towards the end!
I had a commission where I almost didn't have time to complete it before the deadline of Christmas Eve, but the timber didn't turn up until the Tuesday before (more on that project in another video and post later).
Luckily I got the children to help with the wrapping of the presents for my wife and making of one of them. My wife pretty much does all Christmas single handed, the presents, wrapping, Christmas dinner food, I'm good the rest of the year but this time it got to Christmas day and I think because I had been working right up to it I crashed and burned. Ended up having a long nap on Christmas morning (once presents were opened) and one in the afternoon/evening! I'm pretty useless if I stop for any reason!
We had a lovely relaxing day though, with lots of lovely food and gifts to each other. Yesterday we went to my families for the day which was great and still have my wife's family day to come, so the festivities aren't over yet!
I plan for us all to have an easy few days now, the children are watching a film as I write this and I've got two types of dough proving on the side (using new recipe books).
I feel so lucky to have such amazing family and friends, I'm truly blessed in that way, and I'm thankful to have so many people from around the world follow what we do here. It means the world to me, it really does, I love the comments and the emails I get, it makes what could be a lonely job really not. I hope if you're reading this you had a great day and manage to recharge your batteries before we hit 2025 running!
Merry Christmas and a very prosperous 2025 Kev. I look forward to seeing your new raised beds and I hope you get some more livestock like pigs.
ReplyDeleteHappiest of holidays to you and your family. Thank you for sharing your adventures and misadventures all along the way. May peace and good health follow you into the new year.
