Holiday In Norway - Of Fiords And Trolls

So this is going to be a bit of a photo dump of a holiday post. I might do a few more posts later on of different things we did.

It was a dream holiday by all accounts. We hired a car (which gave us lots of freedom), we rented a cabin (with a hot tub), we took some trips, made some up ourselves, had some very rainy days, under packed for the weather.

It was an expensive trip for us, but we worked out it actually worked out far less than some of our friends spend on an all inclusive holiday to the sun.

The ferry to Rosendale

Our cabin was incredible

Beautiful views and loads of space as well as a good kitchen

The hot tub was a highlight for the kids - Especially as they live in a house where we don't have hot water everyday!

Sunsets were breath taking
A trip to Rosendale - a beautiful little town

Every view is like a postcard

It wasn't warm on top of the boat!

We manged a few walks- dodging showers!

The old Bergen museum was a delight - my Middlest in her "future" bakery!

A waterfall we could walk behind!

Water featured a lot in this holiday!

This boat was a particular highlight as we got to go and see "The queen of the fiords"

I thought the suit was a bit of an overkill - IT WASN'T! lol

There doesn't seem to ever be a moment this one doesn't look cool

By the end we were all wet where the suits let water in!

We met a troll!

So there you go - a great holiday! I'm always glad to get home, but it was an incredible time away and one I'll always remember. The children were incredible company (and my wife obviously) and made travelling about just really easy.

If helpful, we took a trip to Norway when I was 14 and I still remember it. The memories will stay with them.

  7. What a fab holiday, that's my type of holiday, I couldn't stand to be lying on a beach all day in the sort of heat they get these days. Glad you all had a good time, you deserve it after all your hard work.

    1. I'm not great on a beach! An hour tops will do me. I blame too many hours on roofs in my 20s and 30s, I've no desire to be out in the sun!

I would live there again in a flash if ths opportunity arose. You all look so really happg with your holiday too. It's great to see a family that enjoys each other's company.

    1. It's just a lovely country, there wasn't a bit of aggression felt all week and that's incredible in itself. We all fell in love with it.
