Seed Savers Lament

Saving some fennel seeds the other day I stupidly put the jar on a sawhorse I had stored in the polytunnel. then I stepped on a loose slab and it smashed down.

Why do little jobs like this always turn into such big ones! The picture sums it up perfectly though. The seed savers lament.

  1. No experience with spilt seeds but not too long ago my youngest daughter was heading out in haste and grabbed an opened back of Skittles from the bottom end... a one pound bag. Since people were waiting on her I told her to just go and I would take care of it. I spent the next half hour on my hands and knees picking those things up from what seemed like half the living area in our house.

    1. Ah man! I bet they took some picking up!
What used to be bad was the big assorted screw boxes, we had thsi metal one, held hundreds of screws, but it was easy to pick it up the wrong way and they'd travel miles!

  2. Kev, my biggest cleanups and errors are usually when I fail to either take the time to actually think through what I am doing or rush through it. Neither ends well.

    1. Yep, or when I think "It'll be okay to do it that one just one time" and it never is!

  3. What about some wood seed containers Kev? There's an idea for you to think about to make.

    1. I make big wooden seed boxes, but smaller ones, turned, would be a fun project. That said I have so many projects ahead of me at the moment!
