Nothing hidden here, just a tour around our place, warts and all.
If you're feeling a bit behind what you're doing this will probably make you feel better. That said I have some things that are doing great. The soft fruit in particular has been awesome for a number of years now, and I'm looking forward to future harvests.
How is spring treating you?
Are things as far on where you are?
Our particular area is really dry right now for spring time and so the garden and other things are taking a beating. The only thing that seems to be growing well for the time being is our lawn. Hopefully we can get out of this rut and receive some rain.
ReplyDeleteWe've had it so wet it's gone the other way here, but we;ve had it dry out a bit and everything has gone crazy with growth! The weeds are going mad at the moment. I think it could be time for some scything action soon!
DeleteFor what it is worth, Horseradish plants seem to be very good nectar plants for parasitoid wasps. They have a two-week bloom period that starts just as the apples finish blooming. Rugosa roses start blooming just as the horseradish finishes and is also a prime nectar source.
ReplyDeleteIt would not be difficult to sneak a few horseradish plants into your row of comfery and would not look out-of-place.
Yeah, I have a few horse radish plants down by the ducks, I hadn't really thought about what they might bring to the party before. Only downside with horse radish is how far it will spread. I had one up in the veg garden and it took some digging out! It still pops up now!
