I made a video the other day talking about temporary jobs and how I came here thinking everything should last me forever.
As I've gone on and used the land my ideas on this have changed completely!
I wrote an article on this in Country Smallholding a few years ago, but as I look around my place it's worth reminding myself of it a bit as well. This video talks a bit about that and the farm I grew up on.
I hope you enjoy it.
What's your favourite type of temporary job on a farm or smallholding?
What's your worst?
For me, my favorite temporary job is making a jig that helps me accomplish a repetitive or large task in an easy manner. Inside the house jobs tend to be more permanent in nature. Outside the house, they tend to be more temporary as things change as our needs do. Like you, I planted a bunch of trees years ago and will soon be in the process of removing them for different trees as our needs and wants have changed.
ReplyDeleteI love a Jig! I often enjoy making them more than the actual project!
