The other day my lad gave me a shopping list of what he wanted for tea the next night.
Now, I'm not easily swayed by things, but this was pretty cute and we all love bugis (burgers) so I did pop to the shops to get what we needed.
I honestly had to ask him if he'd dropped it, he ate it that fast! I love how my children are with food, we've been lucky and never tailored a single meal to them (we did stop cooking risotto, but we might try that one again soon).
What would be the favourite meal you'd write a shopping list for now?
Your menu sounds WONDERFUL! I'd gladly eat it right now. When our daughter was growing up, we never cooked anything extra or different for her either. Parents who cater to a child's every whim when it comes to food are setting themselves up for trouble! Plus, I do believe the kids miss out on trying and discovering they like a lot of different foods.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I taught my kids when they used the last of something or if we were out of something to write it on the list. I had some "special" grocery lists. You should keep it and date it and give it to him for graduation (which will be day after tomorrow.)
ReplyDeleteThat photo of the child with the burger is a stunner! Sheer delight!
ReplyDeleteIf Will our grandson has a sleep over it's always homemade Pizza, he loves making them and trying the toppings before adding. For me it would be Salmon Tagliatelle or Lamb Biryani, the salmon just winning.
ReplyDeleteWow, Kev, those bugis look amazing! Plus, you have photo proof that the meal was a great success!
ReplyDeleteyou really do have a lovely family. Well done Kev and wife! (sorry I dont know your name), they are a real credit to you.
ReplyDeleteI want one too! They look great.
ReplyDeleteSeems like a legit list. And burgers are never, ever wrong.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Kev and all the family, hope you all have a great one!
