Homemade Mask

One of my favourite presents this year was from my eldest (8) daughter.

She's still mad on sewing (in fact on making anything really!) so I think she enjoyed making this with her mum!

She knew I'd like the material she had chosen (I'm forever the biggest geek you'll ever meet)!

I can't believe she's going to be 9 in a few weeks, it's gone so fast! Trying to decide what to get her for her birthday is so tricky so close after Christmas as she never asks for much. I'm tempted to make a tool box for her as I think she'd like that.

  1. She sounds a well rounded beautiful individual, well done to her and you both for excellent parenting.

  2. Make a box for her sewing items, with a space for cutting out scissor, if she loves sewing she will want he own items, ps make it bug enough so she can sit her sewing machine on top.

  3. Designer masks. Great entrepreneur skills at such a young age.

  4. Poppypatchwork is right - a sewing trunk with appropriate storage: spikes for cotton reels, slot for tape measure/chalk/pincushion/scissors, possibly even self-healing cutting board and cutter wheel (look that up, it might be something to get in future if her enthusiasm continues), and storage for all the inspirational pieces of fabric she collects and remnants from things she makes. Good on that girl, keep on making.

  5. she sounds a wonderful daughter, ambitious and talented and thoughtful and generous....all in one. Speaks well of good parenting as well as her own qualities! A toolbox sounds perfect for her!

  6. Hi I agree with your other comments I was a child who loved to sew and would have loved a sewing box. It is something she will use for the rest if her life.

  8. Definitely a sewing box, I received my first at about her age and really treasured it. Make it with some larger compartments and smaller ones for cotton reels etc.
