Knife Skills

I know I've often posted about the little ones using tools safely but I just had to share my 4 year old boy cutting up this cucumber for lunch.

He hah such concentration on his face as he did it.
"Wow, you're pretty good with that knife, did Jamie Oliver teach you to use it?"
He looked up and shrugged his shoulders
"Nah, my sister taught me"

    1. I always think it pays to make them useful as soon as possible!

  2. My wife taught culinary arts as part of her curriculum in middle school, so this pic makes me smile. She took veggies from our garden to use for 'knife skills' class. She felt it was so important for people to know how to properly use and sharpen knives in the kitchen. Can you imagine being in a room full of 10 year olds with sharp knives?! They all seemed to survive though. Good for you!

    1. Haha! That's not a lesson I could run! Although did do bushcraft with 40 exchange students last year and had them all lighting fires!

    1. I did them but they were just too salty, I think my friend is going to cook me something with them to convince me otherwise!
