Socially Distance

With the change to the lockdown rules we decided it was time to see my parents face to face again - at a safe distance.

We've had lots of Zoom calls but it's not quite the same! So I mowed a patch in the bottom field, a circle big enough for us to all keep a safe distance!

It was a lovely evening and the kids were so excited all afternoon! Nice to sit outside chatting while the kids climbed trees and asked their grandparents to watch.

We're still missing my wife's family and hopefully will get to see them soon as well.

I hope you've all got to see your families as the lockdown eases. Such a tricky time for so many, I feel so lucky as to where we live and the people we have around us, even if we haven't been able to see them face to face.

Sending love. x

  2. It feeds our souls to be able to sit and watch our grandsons play, to be in the same space as our daughter and her husband. It was surreal to hear 3 year old Will telling us, Boris Johnson has changed the rules and we have to be good. As always simple pleasures bring the most joy.

  3. Your blog chronicles so many splendid memories Kev. I often look back through my posts and sigh and laugh and ponder over our life here in Ireland.

  5. If only. Son and family live too far away. Like us they are chomping at the bit to be able to meet up.

  6. I watched my granddaughter play with Bertie who she has missed far more than us! And it was wonderful.

  8. Great Idea! We are effectively social distanced by half a continent, but even go back to visit seems like a big risk now. I might consider driving, although it is a solid two day 28 hour drive.
