Odd Drawer Unit

And as last week was half term where my wife was at home I could get cracking in the workshop.

It was an awkward, difficult, annoying, interesting project which tested my patience a little bit! But I'm pleased with the result, I also filmed a video of my making it.

I'm looking forward to seeing it installed and in it's place. I can honestly say it's one of a kind! And although I wouldn't say it was to my taste I might look out for random drawers if I see them to make another!

Let me know what you think! Do you have something similar?

  1. Well worth the project Kev. It's definitely one of a kind. With your mother's eye for design and your carpentry skill - definitely a good tandem:)

    1. The unit will be painted one colour but the drawers will stay a mix.

  4. When you showed these drawers I loved some of them, but thought the idea was going to look like a pigs ear, I take it all back, whilst it's not to my taste, it does look bloody good. Your mum is going to love it.

  9. This looks great! At first I thought it was nice that you were doing this for your mother, even though it wasn't exactly my taste, but I keep going back to look at it. :)

    1. It's not my tastes either to be honest. I'm keen to see it in its place and painted.

  10. I like the drawers! I think what keeps it from being *too* mismash mixup hodgepodge is that there are several sets of matching drawers. I'm not sure if I'd paint it all one color or not.

    1. The unit will be painted, but the drawers will keep being different colours. Some I'd seen had more matching drawers than this. I might keep an eye out to see if I can find some to make some more units in a similar style.

  13. Thought the idea was interesting but wouldn't be to my tastes, yet I find myself loving it. Could easily see it in some trendy apartment. Nice bit of craftsmanship and recycling
