Making A Climbing Wall

A month or so ago I mentioned that I was going to be building the kids a climbing wall for Christmas.

With my bout of flu I was worried it was never going to happen, but luckily I felt well enough a few days before Christmas so dad came over to lend me a hand.

The video below shows how I built it (with dads help on day one). The mud was a real barrier to getting it finished easily!

The kids loved it on Christmas morning. Father Christmas had left a treasure map with clues all dotted around the smallholding leading to the climbing wall at the end (and chocolates). It was great to see them hanging from it. I'm hopeful they'll use it loads in the summer and it'll be a great way to keep them fit, healthy and learn a new skill.

I've also built it strong enough for adults to use it, so I'll be climbing across it as well when they're not looking!

Let me know what you think of the video and the climbing wall!

What should I build them next?

    1. Haha! Far from it, it's good to give them plenty to keep them entertained though! An active outdoor childhood is a great thing for them.

    1. Thank you. I'm getting there! Just wish I could chew food. Realising now that my whole life revolves around food and if you take that away I have not much to look forward to!
