How To Stop A Tractor

  1. Ah, you've lost me now- I can barely operate the lawn mower! Son is an apprentice agricultural engineer though, so I'm sure he'll explain to me in great depth... Leaves as hankies (and plasters) I can identify with :-)

I tried to tag you in this post on Facebook- I had no idea you could eat sunflower heads. I read it and thought of you and all those sunflowers- have you got any left?!

    1. Amazing link. Mine are over now but I've heard you can eat the unripe heads, but never seen anyone try it. and these looked like ripe ones. Thanks for that. something to inflict on my family next year!

  2. One of my student helpers killed the old John Deere in the middle of a busy intersection on campus. All of the battery boosters were dead, I couldn't find jumper cables and I'm not allowed to use my own.
So I towed it to start. This had never been done before. I had to call a friend from a different department who was old enough to remember how to do things like this. Then I had to explain that you should never attempt this with any of our other tractors or mowers as they are hydrostatic drive. It was kind of funny.

    1. We push started a neigbour once. He had no idea. We had to scream at him to take his foot off the clutch!
