LED Floodlights

I remember the lambing shed that we used to have on the farm. Poorly lit, it used to be a nightmare to do the checks at night, dad had a big blue torch that we used to use and a few bulbs dotted here and there.
Things have moved on a lot in resent years. These LED rechargeable floodlights are a real game changer for somewhere without power.
A couple of these would light up any shed and they seem to last for ages. The only disadvantage is that when they run low on charge they suddenly turn themselves off that can come as a big of a shock when you're not expecting it.
The magnetic base on them works amazingly as well, the picture above shows one light pointing upwards, plenty for me to work by.
Anyone else use a rechargeable flood light?

  1. That looks like just the ticket for what we are planning to do, never come across them before, I'll have to have a mooch online and see what I can find

    1. I got one from screwfix. I've been impressed with them. To be fair all the LED stuff seems pretty good these days.

  3. Haven't seen any of those rechargeables on this side of the pond yet. Will have to keep an eye out for them.

    1. They'd be good for you. Great to put outside to work to in the winter when it gets dark qucik.

  4. I use corded, but the light is still impressive and cool to the touch versus the Halogen bulbs that were a heat source; good in the winter but didn't help in the summer. All of my flashlights are LED; If I need more light to see, I want as much as I can get. Does that mean I am getting old?

    1. Halogens are always such a fire risk when around hay and straw. Also the bulbs blow all the time. I think LED is the way to go.

  5. We're fortunate to have several rechargeable LED units from hand held lights on up. What an improvement from the days when we did chores, including milking, by Coleman lanterns! Some of this new technological stuff is great. :o]

    1. No laterns in my childhood, but dads big old blue torch was good enough to check the animals by.

  6. Are they the ones from Screw Fix, Martin got a couple of them and they were brilliant when I was doing the late night bottle feeds, and for when we were dealing with livestock at night through winter :-)

    1. I have one from screwfix and one that was a Christmas present (although it looks the same), it's just nice to set the light down and still be able to work by it.
