Bit of fun for a Wednesday, I saw this on the BBC Website and it has a search engine where it predicts if your job could be replaced by a robot in the next 20 years.
My job, a Carpenter Joiner, is fairly likely to be replaced by robots with an apparent 72% chance of it happening. Can't see them doing the kind of carpentry that I do but we'll wait and see!
Click the link below and then tell me if you're going to be replaced!
What do you think, is more automation a good thing or does it just increase wealth into the rich?
I got 16% chance, highly unlikely. seems the robots won't be business development managers any time soon :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're safe then!
DeleteI can't do it yet as I am on my mobile but I hope not! I like my job lol
ReplyDeleteon the other hand,if I could hire a robot to dig out the garden that would v lovely
Yeah, but there is something satisfying about doing it yourself, not sure you'd get the same sense from pressing a button!
DeleteI have a 1% chance,lol.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time believing a robot can do your job.
Automation can be good, but when it breaks who can then do it?
I don;t think they could either, I do mainly renovations and old properties so I doubt the robot would want to do it!
DeleteI think 100% of the people that come up with these absurd reports don't have a clue and ARE robots themselves, or could easily be replaced by one. There is no way in hell a robot could do the kind of work you and I do.
ReplyDeleteI know! It's funny to think of one putting a cut roof on or hanging a door in an old opening.
DeleteWell if I found the right one to cover my existing job then 89% likelihood. But the new area I am exploring only a 22% likelihood :O).
ReplyDeleteInterested in what your new area is now!
Deletelol I better change my job it says 97% for me
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty high! Maybe we should invent some viruses for them instead!
DeleteI don't have a job, being retired. But that doesn't mean some federal robot won't get me some dark night anyway! ;-)
ReplyDeleteT1000 is on your tail...
