The Fairy Tree

A bit of light heartedness for a Monday morning.
The girls went with me to check the sheep last night before tea. My eldest was really excited to show me the "fairy tree" that she'd found when out walking with her mum.
The tree has some dried bracket fungus on it (beefsteak I think) and she was telling me that this was where the fairies live (and the one on the back of the tree was their Wendy house)  and there was all different coloured fairies that fly around.
She's completely fascinated with this tree and we spent ages down there looking at all the holes in it's root and studying it's bark.

To be three again and to see such magic in the world!

  1. Fabulous, what fun! You could do some bark rubbings on it with them then they could hang the 'pictures' on their walls. And here's another idea for your left over concrete: http://ana-white.com/2015/05/free_plans/concrete-x-side-table-featuring-rogue-engineer

  3. Three is indeed a magical age . I remember making all kinds of things for the fairies . Occasionally a fairy would leave a note for me . I would be very tempted to make the girls a fairy garden .

    1. There is a ridiculous amount of stuff on there isn't there! Stuff I'd never have thought of.

  5. We have Faery folk living here. Hubby often helps out making doors for them, and I do some of their gardening.
There is magic all around for those who are willing to see.
Foster it Kev, and it will be with them forever.

    1. We only ever encourage it. When she's telling me a little made up story I just love it, she has such a good imagination.

  7. when i was a little girl, my grandfather would take walks in the woods with my dog and he would decorate a tree way back in the woods with things he found along the way. old jewelry, gloves, etc.. he always told me it was the ghost tree. i loved it so much.
