It's been a while since I've done an update on the living room renovation.
Over the last month I've managed to add some more sockets, remove the wall lights, change the light switch from one side of the door to the other, fit a new lining and rehang the door the other way round.
I then prepared the whole room for being plastered and got my good friend, Sean, in to plaster it for me. This involved painting the walls with a grit and adding some plasterboard back on the ceilings were I'd made holes to get the wires in.Sean plastering |
Dad on the roof - not a nice day for it! |
Sorry I've not been blogging or commenting much the last could of weeks but hopefully when it's all finished you should be able to see why. The trouble is my deadline is coming up fast but there's no way of telling when he or she will be born - I just hope it's all done by then!
We have been doing similar stuff - it never ends when you have a house and grounds :) Looks like a tidy job Kev - well done :)
ReplyDeleteCheers Sarah, I'm getting there slowly with it. Once I've finished the living room it's time to start fencing (but I don;t think that will be this month!)
DeleteMaybe your deadline will give you a couple extra days!
ReplyDeleteI hope so - I've told her to cross her legs for now!
DeleteI hope you can ease up a bit and enjoy the new baby when he/she arrives-and give your little girl a bit of extra attention.
ReplyDeleteI'll take a little bit of time off when the new baby comes and make sure my girl and me do dad daughter things she love helping me (although I'm not sure you can call it help!)

ReplyDeleteWaiting to meet a new person...so exciting!

It's exciting but I just hope he/she gives me another week or so!
DeleteWhat an excellent deadline to work towards and it seems your cracking on fast xx
ReplyDeleteIt need to be faster! I think I might have to have a few half days on it this week to push it along!
DeleteYou're doing so well, and with such a nice deadline too.
ReplyDeleteDon't pressure yourself to rush, it will be done when it's done, it's going to be so much nicer and more functional once it's finished.
The end is in sight.
It's in sight but the pressure is there to finish! I love your new place by the way!
DeleteSo glad to hear you are making progress. Hope you meet the special deadline with time to spare :)
ReplyDeleteI can't see there being much time to spare but I should meet it!

ReplyDeleteWe have a museum not far from here that has examples of old farmhouses that have been moved from around the world and put on display. A nearby blogger posted on the English Farm house and thought you might like seeing the interior.

Thanks for the link. We've got a museum just like that in droitwich and it makes a great day out with all different buildings taken from round the country. I'm not sure you could ever call my place a farmhouse though - it's much to small. A semi detached 1950s cottage
DeleteI've had a fun time reading through your posting it has been very interesting. Let me wish you and your family lots of happiness in your new life. I look forward to following your progress.
ReplyDeleteHi Paula, thanks for your comment - glad you like the blog. Kev
