Dishwasher

There's not much I miss about our old house. Only two things really, it was a bigger house and we used to have a dishwasher. God how we've missed that dishwasher!
These two pipes have changed my life!
Our current kitchen is tiny with very little space for anything extra (I think I've posted pictures on here before showing just how small it is) but I decided enough was enough and I was going our get the dishwasher back!
To do this the freezer now lives in the dining room. And there is a lot of pipes through some unsightly holes under the kitchen units.
But that doesn't matter because now I don't have to spend every night scrubbing dishes and baby paraphernalia. It's changed the kitchen as now we don't have dishes stacked on the side or drying in the rack giving us more work surface. The plan in the future is to extend to give ourselves a proper sized kitchen diner but in the mean time installing two pipes through some kitchen units has made me very happy!

  1. WOOHOO! I LOVE our dishwasher. We were without one last year for a few months... I even planned meals around what had to be washed up,because I HATE washing up.

    1. Our is working at the moment but thatnks for the offer! We're hopefully planning to have an extention at some point so there will be a whole new kitchen then (Trying to convince my wife I've got time to build it from scratch is difficult though!

  4. Fully understand your joyousness about getting a dishwasher again. Felt exactly the same when Lester marched me into the local electrical appliance shop and insisted he bought me a dishwasher. I think he had got fed up with the horrendous muddle that our temporary kitchen was always in, but now I have a dishwasher, well that 'horrendous muddle' has halved by about fifty percent!

    1. Our horrendous muddle certainly hasn't gone but it's gone down. Just makes evenings a little bit less work, we both do enough hours as it is.

  5. I have a dishwasher in this rented house, we used it once and then it was back to the sink for us. We simply cannot get in the habit of loading it up, so it has stood there all ignored for over a year now.

Of course we still have the other 39 or so dishwasher tablets that I bought to use up so I guess we will have to try and use it occasionally before we move on again.

    1. When we moved to our first house it was only after two nights (my turn) of washing up that we went and bought one!

  6. Our house is over 100 years old and our dish washer sits outside the kitchen as well. Always room somewhere for a dishwasher.
